Job Summary
Medical Assistant Float assists in examination and treatment under the direction of an urgent care provider; manages patient check-in and registration, interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information. May draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis; prepares treatment rooms; conducts point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); coordinates referrals; maintains medical records and supplies; performs front desk duties including processing co-pays and scheduling appointments; ensures QA/maintenance logs and daily operations across centers in NY. Requires strong communication, teamwork, and proficiency with basic computer software.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (ARC or AHA)
