Job Summary
Medical Assistant Float to assist physicians in clinic with patient care activities and complete administrative duties. Responsibilities include reviewing and maintaining charts per EMR guidelines, escorting patients, monitoring patient flow, recording initial vital signs, assisting with minor surgical procedures, applying/removing devices like splints and braces, sterilizing equipment, stocking examination rooms, communicating patient restrictions, conducting follow-up calls, coordinating with outside facilities for tests/surgery, and completing insurance, disability, and FMLA forms. Administrative duties include scheduling, check-in/check-out, insurance verification, data entry, posting charges, and supporting secretaries. Requires MA certification or 1 year MA experience, high school education or equivalent, and BLS; HIPAA compliance and independent work capability are required; local travel with a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- MA Certification or Minimum of one (1) year work experience as a Medical Assistant required
- Education: High School or equivalent required. BLS certification required
- Special Qualifications: Must be able to work independently.
- Must have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
- Must have knowledge of the health care field and medical specialty.
- This position requires local travel via personal vehicle so a valid driver�s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire are required (MVR will be screened on an annual basis.)
