Job Summary
Perform phlebotomy, laboratory blood work, and prepare slides for evaluation while executing quality control procedures before patient testing. Obtain vital signs, document PHQ9 screenings, and receive lab reports to update the EMR. Assist physicians with bone marrow procedures, fine needle aspirates, and pelvic exams, then schedule outside testing and referrals. Maintain test logs, equipment records, and inventory, initiating troubleshooting for instrument malfunctions. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts as needed. Float to any AON location to support business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- BLS required
- Valid Driver's License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
- One-year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician's office with ability to perform venipuncture
- Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills
- Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment
- Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness
- Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters
- Good command of the English language
- Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
- Active listener
- Ability to effectively provide balanced feedback
- Strong customer focus

- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required
- EMR
- Must be able to perform compliance testing
- Must take the required number of CEUs annually to meet C.O.L.A. requirements
- Must be able to work at any AON location to help meet AON business needs
- Will be expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice of required overtime
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites
