Medical Assistant Field Trainer

Job Summary
Conduct orientation training sessions and competency assessments for Medical Assistants across multiple care centers, delivering standardized onboarding, clinical skills instruction, and remedial training to address performance gaps. Partner with Practice Managers and Learning & Development to identify training needs, evaluate 30-, 60-, and 90-day progress, and escalate compliance or patient-safety concerns. Support staff on the clinic floor by demonstrating best practices and troubleshooting operational issues while ensuring adherence to SOPs and clinical protocols. Requires regular travel between locations and flexibility for evening or weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Training and facilitation skills, including the ability to engage diverse learners, adapt to different learning styles, and deliver clear, structured instruction in both one-on-one and group settings
- Demonstrated reliability and accountability, consistently meeting commitments and contributing constructive feedback and ideas
- Commitment to ethical standards and compliance, adhering to established business conduct policies and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Effective time management, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Medical Assistant certification/registration from a nationally recognized certifying organization accepted by CloseKnit and applicable state requirements
- 2+ years of medical assistant experience in a primary care, urgent care, or emergency room setting
- 1+ year of experience as a trainer/mentor in a Primary Care/ Immediate/Urgent Care setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in clinical settings
- Direct experience with the following tasks: Clinical intake, patient data collection
- Direct experience with the following tasks: Laboratory specimen collection (blood-draw/venipuncture, urine collection, point-of-care testing, etc.)
- Direct experience with the following tasks: Performing EKG testing
- Must meet all other state requirements by law, including but not limited to all state requirements and licenses, where applicable
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA requirements
- Flexibility to work various schedules, including occasionally evenings and weekends, to accommodate training schedules
- Regular and frequent travel between CloseKnit care centers is an essential function of the position. The employee must be able to travel to assigned locations based on organizational and training needs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while working in a clinical environment; perform or demonstrate Medical Assistant clinical procedures; use standard clinical equipment; and lift, carry, push, or pull supplies and equipment consistent with the requirements of the Medical Assistant role, with or without reasonable accommodation
