Job Summary
Room patients, monitor flow, and return phone messages while obtaining histories, vitals, and administering medications. Escort patients to rooms, update electronic medical records with chief complaints, allergies, and immunization data, and prepare individuals for examinations or procedures. Assist physicians with clinical duties, ensure consent is signed, and perform "Time out" protocols. Handle departmental calls, triage under supervision, educate families, and demonstrate courtesy during scheduling. Maintain accurate documentation, stock rooms, clean exam spaces, and assist with medical emergencies. This role supports the licensed health care professionals at Beloit Clinic Family Practice, a growing team within Beloit Health System.
Required Qualifications
- Certified or Registered as Medical Assistant at time of employment
- Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire
- Strong critical thinking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication and counseling skills
Desired Qualifications
- Two years clinical experience desirable
- Willingness to learn phlebotomy and point of care labs
- Preferred Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Prior experience in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
