Job Summary
Medical Assistant supporting Family Medicine at UVA Community Health. Provides clinical support under supervision of a licensed practitioner, performs administrative tasks, completes rooming and clinical intake, collects health data, documents services, and supports the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care. Must hold CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials or have completed an approved medical assistant program and obtain certification within 6 months; BLS required. Requires high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year clinic experience preferred. Typical duties include patient rooming, data collection, documentation, and assisting with care under supervision, with a focus on age-appropriate patient interactions and teamwork in a fast-paced clinic setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Current CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials or completion of an approved medical assistant program
- Ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
- AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required
- Experience: minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic setting preferred
