Job Summary
Medical Assistant for Family Medicine in a part-time role within Northwestern Medicine. Responsible for facilitating efficient patient flow, assisting physicians and nurses, preparing exam rooms, taking accurate vital signs, documenting visit reasons and patient information, performing ECG and venipuncture, assisting with immunizations and CLIA-waived testing, stocking and maintaining exam rooms, and supporting the patient care team in both clinical and administrative tasks. Requires high school diploma or GED, current medical assistant certification (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA or eligible within six months), BLS/CPR certification, and 0-2 years of relevant experience. Strong computer skills and EHR/EMR experience preferred. The role emphasizes patient interaction and adherence to regulatory standards and clinic protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current certification in CMA or AMT or NCCT or NHA or NRCMA or CCMA or eligible to sit for one of the five certifications within six months
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
- 0-2 years of experience in a relevant role
- Strong computer skills
- Completion of accredited Medical Assistant training program (preferred)
- Experience with electronic medical records (preferred)
