Job Summary
Medical Assistant in a Family Medicine ambulatory setting under physician supervision. Provides direct and indirect patient care per the care plan, participates as part of the health care team, and accepts delegation from RN or physician. Performs duties aligned with policies and procedures, and tasks within the scope of unlicensed healthcare personnel, contributing to relationship-based patient care and efficient clinic operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate from Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program OR active Medical Assistant certification (CMA) OR registration (RMA) OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Team-work experience
- Computer proficiency including experience with electronic medical record systems
- Ability to work daytime hours; flexibility to meet staffing needs
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting
- Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
