Job Summary
Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians by preparing patients for office visits and procedures. Perform patient care activities including vaccine and medication administration, phlebotomy, and point of care testing. Provide indirect patient care via phone or EHR by addressing patient questions, processing medication refills, and scheduling follow-up appointments. Utilize the electronic health record for efficient care. This role supports a collaborative team of medical providers, nurses, and social workers focused on addressing social determinants of health. MA certification or equivalent licensure is required within one year.
Required Qualifications
- MA certification required within one year, from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)
- MA certification requirement may be met instead by current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license and national EMT registration (NREMT). Oregon only
- Washington State certification as a MA or Interim MA required for all who work or float in Washington
- Current BLS for Providers from the American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience as a clinic back office medical assistant preferred
