Job Summary
Room patients, obtain vital signs, administer vaccines and medications, complete in-basket work, answer phones, and perform point-of-care testing. Newly hired candidates complete an onsite training period paired with a Senior Medical Assistant for mentorship. This role supports a diverse patient population at the Kentwood location, including non-English-speaking patients served with onsite interpreter resources. Hours vary between 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. based on provider assignment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice
- 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Completion of BLS Certification within 90 Days
- Completion of AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant certification within 120 Days
- Compliance with MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement
