Job Summary
Medical Assistant in Family Medicine providing clinical and administrative support to physicians and APPs. Responsibilities include rooming patients, answering phones, preparing charts ahead of visits, managing inbasket tasks and prior authorizations, monitoring messages, performing point-of-care testing, administering medications and immunizations, preparing exam rooms, maintaining patient flow, and assisting with procedures such as EKGs and wound care. Requires strong communication, attention to detail, proficiency with electronic health records, and ability to support the adjoining Internal Medicine department as needed. Requires completion of an approved medical assistant training program, 1 year of relevant experience, and BLS certification within 90 days; CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA or equivalent certification within 120 days.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of hands-on competency-based medical assistant training program
- 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting

- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
- One of CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NCRA/NHA CMA or equivalent within 120 Days
