Medical Assistant (Family)

Job Summary
Coordinate patient care by preparing individuals for provider interaction, administering medications and immunizations, and performing routine clinical duties such as drawing blood, conducting EKGs, and wound care. Manage patient history collection, documentation, and chart reviews while maintaining supply inventories and ensuring proper sterilization of instruments. Lead team huddles, participate in quality control logging, and assist clinicians with administrative tasks and appointment scheduling. Communicate frequently with providers regarding patient needs and address care concerns through one-on-one interactions and email. Work Monday through Friday with varying hours including evenings and weekends. Requires a valid Medical Assistant diploma, BLS certification, and proficiency in electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- High School or vocational diploma or equivalent
- Completion of Medical Assistant course with valid Medical Assistant diploma, or documented proof of on the job training in a doctor's office
- At least one year experience in all aspects of medical assistant functions
- Ability to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of electronic medical records
- Current/valid BLS certification, or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment
- Able to work flexible hours and sites as needed
- Able to work evenings and weekends
- Background Screening Requirement through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year experience in all aspects of medical assistant functions preferred
- Current Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Bilingual skills preferred
