Job Summary
The Medical Assistant Externship Coordinator role focuses on building and managing externship opportunities for Medical Assistant students, ensuring alignment between academic learning and clinical practice, driving extern-to-hire conversions, and maintaining program integrity through federal, state, and accreditation standards. The coordinator collaborates with Career Services, placement teams, and external healthcare partners to optimize student outcomes, mentors students in attendance and professionalism, conducts site visits, maintains documentation, and promotes the externship program within the healthcare community. A CMA credential with at least 3 years of practical medical assisting experience is required; CPR certification is preferred. The position reports to CHCP and involves coordinating with externship sites, evaluating student performance, and contributing to program success metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is required
- Minimum of 3+ years of practical experience in the medical assisting field
- CPR certification (preferred)
