Job Summary
Collaborate with medical staff to support a patient-focused approach by performing clerical duties that drive efficient patient flow. Prepare patients for visits and procedures by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and determining risk factors. Facilitate lab and diagnostic tests using strong phlebotomy skills, while conducting chart reviews to assist with pre-visit planning. Assist with paperwork including prior authorizations, benefits, and entitlements. Maintain exam rooms according to infection control protocols, ensuring supplies are stocked and equipment functions properly. Work full-time Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday/Friday shifts at Buffalo locations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year experience in a healthcare practice
- CPR/BLS certification
- ability to travel to our Buffalo locations
- ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally
- awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification CMA (AAMA)
- familiarity with EMR system (Medent)
- strong phlebotomy skills
