Job Summary
Coordinate patient care plans with the health care team while preparing patients for examinations and administering diagnostic laboratory tests. Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and electrocardiograms, and collect specimens using infection control protocols. Document findings in medical records, maintain examination room cleanliness, and process insurance and financial forms. Requires a high school diploma, Medical Assistant training certificate, or one to three years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate
- 1-3 years experience as a medical assistant
- 1-3 years experience as an emergency medical technician
- 1-3 years experience as a certified nursing attendant
- Valid certificate (for certified nursing attendant experience)
- Successful completion of the Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program
