Job Summary
Coordinate patient care under physician and nurse supervision by preparing patients, administering diagnostic tests, and organizing medical records. Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, electrocardiograms, and specimen collection while adhering to infection control protocols. Document findings, maintain equipment calibration, and ensure examination room cleanliness and supply levels. Assist with special procedures such as lumbar punctures and pelvic exams, and handle clerical tasks including insurance processing and phone triage. Tuesday through Thursday shifts from 7am to 8:30pm, with salary determined by experience and location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate
- 1-3 years' experience as a medical assistant
- 1-3 years' experience as an emergency medical technician
- 1-3 years' experience as a certified nursing attendant
- Valid certificate (for certified nursing attendant experience)
- Successful completion of the Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program
