Job Summary
Perform Medical Assistant specific tasks under physician supervision, including patient assessment, education, and care delivery using the nursing process. Provide specialty-specific assistance in the ENT department while maintaining effective communication with patients of varying ages and special needs. Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as required prior to orientation. This role supports clinical quality and patient care within Valley Health's ENT PBB team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of experience in a clinical setting
- Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved
- American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification
- Good communication skills
- Competence to provide care to patients utilizing the nursing process
- Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development
- Competence to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs
