Job Summary
Coordinate patient care and examination workflows by preparing rooms, obtaining vital signs, documenting history and medication screens, and reviewing social data in the EHR. Administer medications, perform back-office testing, and cue up prescriptions or refills per approved protocols. Provide follow-up communications, notify patients of results, and maintain inventory while sterilizing instruments and checking equipment. Float between physician office locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification
- Certification in NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or AMCA
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Ability to comply with HIPAA
- Ability to comply with company's Code of Business Conduct
- Ability to comply with applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Ability to comply with company policies and training requirements
- Ability to comply with data security guidelines
- Ability to comply with all data security guidelines established within the Company's Handbook of Privacy Policies and Practices
- Ability to comply with Information Security Policy
- Ability to comply with the ethical and legal standards and behavioral expectations as set forth in the code of business conduct and company policies
- Ability to protect covered information, cardholder data, or other confidential customer information
- Ability to float/travel between physician office locations
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- One year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years
- Graduation from a medical assistant program within five years
