Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant in Endocrinology, you will assist in coordinating patient care under the supervision of health care providers, including preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). You will perform clerical functions, assist with examinations, and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and cleaned. The role requires compliance with established healthcare protocols and may involve travel between office locations. A minimum high school education, medical assistant certification, and specific background checks are required for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant OR 1 year in a direct patient care role, including vital signs
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Certification Requirements: Graduation from a medical assistant program within five years OR proof of one year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years must complete certification training and/or attempt testing within 30 days of hire and must obtain certification within 120 days of hire
- Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
