Medical Assistant, EMT Occupational Medicine

Job Summary

Conduct triage, take vital signs, and document patient histories in the EMR system. Collect laboratory specimens and administer medications, including intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections. Perform clinical procedures such as starting IVs, placing catheters, and splinting. Assist with occupational medicine services including drug screening, breath alcohol testing, and pulmonary function testing. Collect routine blood, urine, and oral swab specimens. Enforce HIPAA and OSHA compliance while overseeing quality assurance programs and CLIA waived laboratory requirements. Operate office medical equipment and perform general administrative tasks. Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required to support staffing needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • 1+ year of healthcare experience
  • Proficiency in venipuncture
  • Proficiency in injections
  • Proficiency in clinical procedures
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software
  • A positive, proactive approach to patient care
  • Collaboration skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Urgent care experience
  • ER experience
  • Experience using EPIC software
  • Willingness to train outstanding new graduates
  • Traveling to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required
