Job Summary
Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and screenings. Assist pediatric providers during examinations and procedures, administering immunizations, medications, and injections. Perform vision and hearing screenings while educating parents on vaccines, preventive care, and treatment plans. Review immunization records supporting CAIR and VFC guidelines, coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments, and maintain accurate electronic health record documentation. Prepare laboratory specimens, maintain exam rooms, and support patient flow through discharge assistance and scheduling. Work collaboratively across all pediatric roles, including vaccines, discharge, and float assignments, to create a welcoming, family-centered environment. Full-time on-site role with one Saturday monthly rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalency
- Must have completed a Medical Assistant program
- Bilingual, English and Spanish language skills
- Valid CPR Certification or willing to complete a course prior to hire
- Minimum one year experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient clinic
- Certification as a medical assistant in the State of California
- 100% On-site, Full-time, Mon-Fri (8AM-5PM) in Van Nuys, CA and One Saturday a month at the Sherman Oaks location
- Committed to providing compassionate, family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents
Desired Qualifications
- Certification through the California Family Health Council (CFHC) Basic Health Worker course
