Job Summary
Greet and prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and medication information. Accurately document clinical observations and services in the EHR, review charts for completeness, and assist providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures. Administer medications, injections, and routine immunizations according to standing orders and CDC recommendations. Perform medication reconciliation, coordinate patient care through referrals and scheduling, and collect specimens for laboratory testing. Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and maintain clean, stocked exam rooms. Support efficient patient flow, front- and back-office operations, and participate in quality improvement and compliance initiatives. Work 100% on-site Mon-Fri in Lynwood.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to hire
- At least one year of outpatient Medical Assistant experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- 100% on-site Mon-Fri in Lynwood
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of outpatient Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Experience in family practice, primary care, community health, or a similar outpatient setting is a plus
- Knowledge of basic clinical workflows, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
- Experience administering immunizations, performing point‐of‐care testing, and collecting lab specimens
- Familiarity with population health tasks such as outreach, care gaps, and quality metrics
- Experience with triage support, messaging, and managing provider inbox tasks
