Job Summary
Check in patients, obtain vital signs, and verify medical history while documenting information into the electronic medical records system. Prepare patients for examinations, collect laboratory specimens, and administer medications as directed by providers. Collaborate with clinical staff to review test reports, obtain imaging authorizations, and schedule appointments. Remove sutures, change dressings, and manage pill disposal. Keep exam rooms stocked and organized while answering telephones and greeting patients.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 1-year medical assisting experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency with EMRs
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers
- Strong ability to multitask and move from one project to another as needed
- Works to resolve problems or determines an appropriate course of action in a timely manner
- Strong time management, follow-through, and organizational skills
