Job Summary
Obtain patient records and test results, prepare treatment rooms for examinations, and assist practitioners during medical procedures including biopsies and cosmetic procedures. Transcribe for providers, educate patients on treatment plans, and complete prior authorizations for prescriptions, biologics, and procedures. Stock rooms with necessary supplies, sanitize work areas, and report biopsy, culture, and lab results to patients via phone when directed. Send patient visit notes to referring providers and answer incoming calls while not in a room with a provider. Assist office staff with front-end tasks as needed. Requires a high school diploma, Medical Assistant certification, and 1-3 years of relevant experience. Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- certification from a Medical Assistant Program
- 1-3 years of relevant medical / surgical practice experience
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
- Experience with practice management software (ie EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times
