Job Summary
Prepare charts 24-48 hours prior to appointments with pathology reports, test results, and medication notes. Obtain vitals, update patient history, reconcile medications, and escort patients to exam rooms. Document accurately in the Electronic Medical Record using assigned login and properly label specimen tubes. Assist providers with minor surgical procedures in the mini OR, maintain sterile protocols, and clean exam rooms between visits. Provide patient education on orders and medication instructions. Empty hazardous waste receptacles, stock medical supplies, and intercept clinical phone calls as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all clinic policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant education program or phlebotomy program
- High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time clinical health care experience
- High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of six (6) months of full-time RPCI Oncology, PC clinical or administrative health care experience
- One year clinical experience as Medical Assistant
- Certified MA, Registered MA or Certified Phlebotomist
- BLS Certification
