Job Summary
Medical Assistant at Corewell Health Urgent Care providing hands-on patient care and supporting clinic operations in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include patient preparation, triage and vital signs, documenting patient histories in EMR, collecting routine lab specimens, administering medications and injections, performing basic clinical and laboratory procedures, assisting with Occupational Medicine services (drug screening, audiograms, pulmonary function testing) while adhering to HIPAA/OSHA, and completing administrative duties. Travel to other Beaumont Urgent Care locations as needed. Requires 12-hour shifts, weekends/holidays, and certification/experience as a Medical Assistant.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution (diploma or certificate) OR Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) OR Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an urgent care or ER/hospital setting
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and general clinical procedures
- Technical Skills: Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR); EPIC preferred
- Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Team Player: Positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration
