Job Summary
The Medical Assistant I provides selective medical services including standard medical assistant responsibilities and specialized testing under the direction of Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners and Physicians. Key responsibilities include coordinating medical service needs for patients, ensuring compliance with certification requirements, and completing necessary clearances within set timelines. Ideal candidates should be high school graduates with CPR certification, possess drug testing certification within six months, and meet certain HR policy clearances. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree and relevant medical assistant certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- CPR certification
- Certification in urine drug testing – must obtain within 6 months of hire
- Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree program
- Medical Assistant Certification (i.e., AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA, or NCCT NCMA)
- Minimum of one year medical assisting
- Computer experience
