Job Summary
Care Team Specialist (Urgent Care) participates as a member of a care team to support clinical and administrative workflows for high-quality patient care and a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities include pre-visit preparation, monitoring patient flow, rooming patients, obtaining patient histories and vital signs, managing certain test results per protocols, supporting Epic in-basket workflow, returning phone calls, and assisting with medical examinations and procedures. CTS Urgent Care collaborates with Registered Nurses and Medical Providers in care coordination. CTS UC staff will review team/provider in-baskets and MyChart messages for the assigned care team. Requires MA training or LPN/EMT training with appropriate certification; role is 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) in Madison, WI, with in-person duties. Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant training program completed from an accredited school or program and eligible for national certification within six months, or three years of MA experience with current national certification (CCMA, AAMA, ARMA, NCCT, or other approved certifying organization)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) training program completed and current LPN licensure in Wisconsin or able to obtain within six months
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training and valid Wisconsin EMT/AEMT/Paramedic license
- Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate required with certification within four months of employment
- Valid Wisconsin driver license if operating a vehicle and ability to travel to various work sites
- Typing speed minimum 30 WPM
- Knowledge of MS Office, EMR systems (EPIC desirable) and scheduling applications
- Knowledge of outpatient clinical administrative procedures, medical terminology, basic pharmacology
- Ability to maintain quality/safety/infection control standards and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to instruct patients and families on disease basics, treatment and follow-up
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with diverse patient populations
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
