Job Summary
Obtain and update patient information, ensuring records, forms, and consent documents are complete and accurate. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and documenting relevant medical history. Return patient phone calls and respond to electronic messages regarding clinical questions, lab results, prescription refills, and other healthcare concerns. Assist physicians and other providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments, including administering injections and medications as directed. Clean and prepare examination rooms, beds, and instruments between patient visits, while keeping rooms stocked with necessary supplies. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system and support daily clinic operations by organizing supplies and managing laundry.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the clinical environment
- Frequent bending, reaching, and assisting with patient positioning during examinations or procedures
- Ability to lift or move medical supplies or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Frequent use of computers, telephones, and medical equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including documentation, instrument preparation, and patient intake procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting
- Knowledge of patient care procedures, examination protocols, and administrative processes in a healthcare environment
