Job Summary
Greet patients, assist with scheduling, and process payments while managing exam room turnover and disinfection. Perform patient care activities, including rooming patients virtually or in person, updating charts, collecting lab specimens, and assisting providers during exams. Communicate pertinent patient data to ensure continuity of care, triage phone messages, and obtain prior authorizations. Order and manage supplies under manager direction while maintaining infection control protocols and HIPAA confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- CPR/BLS certification
- 1 year of experience working within a clinical environment
- 1 year in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Excellent visual acuity
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to stand; walk and talk
- Ability to hear and smell
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to sit; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to use safety equipment, PPE (personal protective equipment) that may include but not be limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Phlebotomy and lab processing skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as needed
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients and physicians
- Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping
