Job Summary
Provide patient care according to age-specific population needs and assist in managing patient care in the physician office setting under direct supervision of a provider. Maintain current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or obtain one within 12 months of hire, and hold Basic Life Support/CPR certification. Complete mandatory background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. Prior experience in outpatient physician's office practice and proficiency with electronic health record programs are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT); or a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); or a certified EMT
- Basic Life Support/CPR certification
- High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
- Agrees to register with one of the currently accepted agencies for MA Certification and schedule a test date within 6 months from date of Hire
- Certification must be received and presented to HR within 12 months of date of hire
- Must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire/transfer date
- Undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician's office practice
- Experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs
- The ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative
- Demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software along with skill in all Microsoft office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point)
