Job Summary

Provide patient care according to age-specific population needs and assist in the management of patient care in the physician office setting under direct supervision of a provider. Maintain current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), or register with an accepted agency within six months of hire. Obtain Basic Life Support/CPR certification within thirty days of hire. Complete mandatory background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. Submit high school diploma or GED prior to start.

Required Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT); or a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); or a certified EMT
  • Basic Life Support/CPR certification
  • High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
  • Agrees to register with one of the currently accepted agencies for MA Certification and schedule a test date within 6 months from date of Hire
  • Certification must be received and presented to HR within 12 months of date of hire
  • Must be obtained Basic Life Support/CPR certification within thirty (30) days of hire/transfer date
  • Undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse

Desired Qualifications

  • One (1) year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician's office practice
  • Experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs
  • The ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software along with skill in all Microsoft office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point)
