Job Summary
Prepare patients for encounters, assist clinicians in care delivery, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies at the outpatient care site. Manage clerical and scheduling duties while reporting patient care observations and deviations from the plan of care under direct supervision. Perform venipuncture if desired and demonstrate knowledge of infection control and medical terminology. Requires BLS certification through the American Heart Association and current Medical Assistant certification or Vermont State LNA license. Pay range is $19.97 to $29.09.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 1-2 Years Medical Assistant experience
- 1 year of secretarial or administrative experience, including medical terminology
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association
- Ability to report patient care observations, deviations from patient's plan of care and other pertinent information under the direct supervision of a provider or licensed nursing staff
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate moderate knowledge of basic computer skills
- Demonstrate moderate knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Knowledge of infection control
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of Medical Assistant program preferred
- Current nationally accredited Medical Assistant Certification/Registered,(preferred)
- Current Vermont State LNA License (preferred)
- Venipuncture skills desirable
