Job Summary
Conduct patient registration, verify insurance eligibility, and process co-pays while managing check-in and appointment scheduling. Perform preliminary physical tests including vital signs and blood draws, prepare treatment rooms, and conduct point-of-care testing for flu, strep, and urinalysis. Coordinate provider referrals, answer patient inquiries, and maintain medical records by scanning charts and managing supply inventory. Perform opening and closing duties, handle correspondence, and ensure equipment calibration and preventive maintenance. Requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and one of several medical assistant certifications, with competitive pay starting at $17.00/hr.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
- One of the following certifications within the first 15 months of employment: CCMA, CMA, CMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ARMA
- CPOE certification for order entry
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN or RN (in lieu of approved MA Certification)
- EMT certification verified through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (in lieu of approved MA Certification)
- Ability to type quickly
- Basic computer knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Detail oriented mindset
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact and treat all persons with fairness, respect and sensitivity to cultural/social difference
