Job Summary
Escort patients to exam rooms, review medical records, and conduct pre-visit interviews while documenting chief complaints and medical histories. Check vital signs, administer injections, perform venipuncture, and process test results via email, mail, or phone. Conduct point-of-care testing for electrocardiograms and throat cultures, assess needs for referrals and prescription renewals, and follow up with patients post-hospital visits. Prepare patients for examinations, assist with procedures, and instruct on urine collection. Maintain clinical documentation, sterilize equipment, and answer incoming telephone calls to determine caller needs. Report safety incidents through the Midas/RDE tool and comply with all state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited Medical Assisting program or college
- Valid and active Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - CMA; American Medical Technologists (AMT) - RMA; National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) - NCMA; or National Health Care Association (NHA) - CCMA
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Fingerprint Clearance Card application number
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Understanding of computers
- Competence in using computers and basic software programs

- One year related job experience
