Job Summary
Medical Assistant (Certified) position responsible for vital signs, assisting with exams and minor procedures, administering injections/medications, sterilizing instruments, maintaining medical records and immunization data, restocking supplies, handling patient questions, and ensuring HIPAA/compliance with data protection policies; requires CMA certification, HIPAA/Privacy and CPR First Aid training, and proficiency with RPMS/EHR and MS Office; strong communication and organizational skills in a high-volume clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or similar
- HIPAA and Privacy training within 90 days of employment
- Blood borne pathogen training annually
- CPR/First Aid within initial 90 days of hire
- Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language
- Ability to utilize RPMS and EHR proficiently
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Well-developed human relation skills to convey technical concepts to others and to give instructions
- Ability to communicate technical information and to interact with a wide variety of groups and individuals inside and outside the organization
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work processes in a high-volume environment in order to meet schedules and timelines
- Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends
- Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive in the duties of the position in order to meet mandated deadlines and to comply with goals and objectives
