Job Summary
Medical Assistant-Certified needed at Sea Mar Community Health Centers to serve as the patient care hub in a primary care team. Responsibilities include tracking and documenting clinical measures, coordinating referrals, administering IM/SubQ/intradermal injections and oral medications, assisting with charting and rooming, performing venipuncture, completing provider referrals, supporting care coordination for high-risk patients, and ensuring documentation and communication per Sea Mar protocols. The MA will work closely with providers, Care Coordinators, and other care team members to deliver patient-centered care, maintain EHR proficiency, ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, PCMH, QI), and support quality measures. Essential duties also cover AIDET customer service, preparing exam rooms, managing medication storage and waste logs, assisting with gynecological exams and minor procedures, and participating in performance metrics and Quality Improvement activities. Requirements include MA-Certified (or interim license), completion of an approved MA program, BLS CPR within 90 days, annual health screenings and flu vaccine (with exemptions), and willingness to travel between Sea Mar sites. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; strong customer service, problem solving, and ability to handle 18–21 patients per day are expected. Hourly rate: $24.09.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an approved MA-C program
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (MA-C) from Washington State Department of Health
- Must adhere to Sea Mar Employee Health Screening Policy
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintain it
- Pre-hire and annual employee health screening; Annual influenza vaccine required (with exemptions)
- Ability to travel to other Sea Mar sites if needed
- Proficiency in electronic health records and practice management systems
- Ability to obtain and interpret patient vital signs, administer injections, and manage medications per physician order
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly desired
