Job Summary
Medical Assistant certified will serve as the hub of the patient care team in a primary care setting, performing injections and administer medications under physician order, assisting with charting and rooming, coordinating referrals, and ensuring documentation of all clinical measures and patient health needs. The MA will work closely with providers, care coordinators, and other health professionals to support patient-centered care, oversee quality measures, and maintain timely patient flow. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to Sea Mar policies, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, NPSG, PCMH, QI). The position emphasizes patient-centered care, data accuracy for clinical quality measures, AIDET-based patient interactions, and proficiency with the organization’s EHR and related clinical tools. Must be fully proficient with Sea Mar’s patient management and electronic health records systems by the end of probation, with duties including venipuncture, injections, medication administration, referrals processing, and support for lab/imaging results, while maintaining infection control and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an approved MA-C program
- Current Medical Assistant Certified license issued from Washington State Department of Health
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly desired
- Ability to read/write proficient English; Spanish preferred
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and practice management systems; SharePoint, Arcadia, OneHealth Portal, HealthPlanFinder experience a plus
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintain it
- Annual influenza vaccine required or exemption by policy
- Proficiency in clinical skills: venipuncture, injections, specimen handling, specimen processing, patient rooming, patient documentation, and care coordination
