Job Summary
Medical Assistant - Certified at Sea Mar Community Health Centers (FQHC) serving diverse communities in Washington. The MA acts as the central hub of the care team, ensuring all patient-relevant clinical quality measures are addressed, coordinating referrals, administering injections and medications under physician orders, assisting with charting and patient visits, and supporting patient care coordination. Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy (venipuncture), rooming patients, assisting with minor procedures (e.g., GYN exams, I&Ds), maintaining documentation per Sea Mar protocols, ensuring HIPAA compliance, using the EHR and practice management systems proficiently, and contributing to quality improvement and care coordination efforts. Must be MA-Certified (or interim license) with BLS CPR within 90 days, and flu/influenza vaccination is required. Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred. Ambulatory Family Medicine experience and ability to manage ~18-21 patients per day, with a goal of completing 100% of quality care gaps.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an approved MA-C program
- Must have current Medical Assistant Certified license issued from Washington State Department of Health
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly desired (preferred)
- Ability to perform essential duties including venipuncture, injections, charting, and EHR proficiency
- Experience in Family Medicine preferred
- CPR/BLS within 90 days of hire and maintained
- Adequate health screening per policy
