Job Summary
Medical Assistant - Certified at Sea Mar plays a central role in the patient care team, coordinating with providers and care coordinators to deliver patient-centered primary care. Responsibilities include patient outreach and documenting clinical quality measures, completing provider referrals, administering injections and medications under physician order, assisting with charting and rooming, performing venipuncture, preparing exam rooms, maintaining infection control and HIPAA compliance, and supporting care coordination and quality improvement activities. The MA-C acts as a hub for clinical workflows, ensures accurate documentation in the EHR, supports lab orders and results, and collaborates with multiple disciplines to improve health outcomes. Proficiency in EHR/Practice Management systems, ability to work with diverse populations (Latino communities in WA), and adherence to organizational policies are essential. Must be able to work effectively with a care team, demonstrate strong communication, and comply with safety and regulatory requirements, including L/S English proficiency (Spanish preferred) and BLS CPR within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant (MA-C) program
- Current Medical Assistant Certified license issued by Washington State Department of Health (MA-C)
- Must adhere to Sea Mar Employee Health Screening Policy
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintain
- Pre-hire and annual health screenings
- Annual influenza vaccine requirement with exemption accommodations per administration policy
- Ability to obtain and maintain infection control and standard precautions per Sea Mar policy
- Proficiency with Sea Mar’s patient management and electronic health records systems by end of probationary period
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; Spanish language ability preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly desired

- Must be MA-Certified or possess MA-Interim License and pass exam within 90 days

- Must be able to perform essential duties of Medical Assistant role in a clinical ambulatory setting
