Job Summary
Gather patient data through interviews and observation, then assist patients with examination preparation and procedures. Administer approved medications and document treatments, procedures, and patient education per department policies. Act as a liaison to schedule specialty testing and consultations, while processing incoming and outgoing calls independently. Enter medication, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging orders into the electronic medical system under provider direction. Support quality initiatives, operational improvements, and effective communication with patients and administrative staff. Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies, infection control standards, and patient safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school
- At least one (1) year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient care setting
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
- Current certification or registration by one of the following agencies: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Health career Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assi...
