Job Summary
Coordinate patient care and office operations by preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting history, tobacco, and medication screenings in the EHR. Accurately administer medications, perform lab controls, and ensure exam rooms are stocked with supplies while cleaning and sterilizing instruments per policy. Review social history, update medication lists, and cue up orders for screenings, prescriptions, or refills based on approved protocols. Provide follow-up to patients via telephone or electronic methods and notify them of test results under provider direction. May float between physician office locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification
- Graduated from a medical assistant program within five years
- Proof of one year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years
- Completion of certification training and/or attempt testing within 30 days of hire
- Obtain certification within 120 days of hire
- Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
- CPR – American Heart Association Act 34
- Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33
- Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73
- FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Compliance with Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Compliance with company policies and training requirements

- Associate's Degree
- Additional training to serve as a scribe
