Job Summary
Gathers patient data through interviews and observation, assists patients with examination preparation, and supports physicians during procedures. Documents treatments and patient education per policy, enters medication and diagnostic orders into the electronic medical system, and acts as a liaison for scheduling specialty testing. Processes incoming and outgoing calls using clinical judgment, participates in quality assurance activities, and maintains compliance with infection control and operational standards. Works Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm in the Tampa, FL orthopedics department.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school
- Verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting
- Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
- Current certification by one of the following agencies within 6 months of hire: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Health career Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Nationally Registered Certified Medi...
