Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect patient care support in a fast-paced orthopedic clinic by assisting physicians with surgical and non-surgical procedures. Perform cast applications and removals, fracture care, dressing changes, brace fittings, and patient education while applying and monitoring mobilization and immobilization devices. Coordinate surgery and procedure scheduling, ensuring all required testing, authorizations, and resources are coordinated prior to procedures. Full-time, five days per week with weekend and/or holiday rotation possible. Requires BLS certification and Certified Medical Assistant certification within six months of hire. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- BLS certification
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification within 6 months of hire
- Orthopedic certification within 6 months of hire
- Weekend and/or holiday rotation availability
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Athletic Training or related healthcare field
- Previous experience in a hospital, orthopedic, sports medicine, or physician office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent gross and fine motor skills
- Cognitive, organizational & emotional maturity
- Non-judgmental, empathetic patient care
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, organized, flexible, team-oriented and open to feedback
