Job Summary

Conduct patient care under the direction of the physician or Advanced Practice Provider in an ambulatory setting. Gathers patient data through interviews and observation, assists patients with examination preparation, and supports the physician during procedures. Administers approved medications, documents treatments and procedures according to department policies, and acts as a liaison to schedule specialty testing and consultations. Processes incoming and outgoing calls independently, enters medication and diagnostic orders into the electronic medical system, and ensures compliance with infection control and Orlando Health standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school
  • At least one (1) year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient care setting
  • Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
  • Current certification or registration by one of the following agencies: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Health career Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assi...
