Job Summary
Gather patient data through interviews and observation, assist patients with examination preparation, and support the physician or Advanced Practice Provider during procedures. Administer approved medications, document treatments and patient education, and process incoming and outgoing calls using sound clinical judgment. Enter medication, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging orders into the electronic medical system under provider direction. Act as a patient liaison for specialty testing scheduling and assist the business office with reception and discharge tasks. Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies, infection control standards, and federal, state, and local regulations. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm in the Family Practice department at 2100 Via Bella Blvd, Land o Lakes, FL.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school
- At least one (1) year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient care setting
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
- Current certification or registration by one of the following agencies: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Health career Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assi...
