Job Summary
Medical Assistant Certified supporting BMPG Pulmonary & Sleep: performs patient care and related administrative duties under physician supervision, including vital signs collection, room preparation, phlebotomy and specimen handling (post-competency), EKGs, documentation in the medical record, scheduling, pre-authorization, and billing tasks; maintains confidentiality and supports office operations and patient flow.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of accredited medical assistant program or equivalent experience
- Blood draw/phlebotomy competency (will be validated)
- EKG knowledge/ability to perform EKGs as appropriate
- Knowledge of medical records documentation and confidentiality
- Ability to perform office/clerical duties including scheduling, registration, billing
- Supervision by physician(s) and office manager
- Experience or training in phlebotomy and specimen handling (post-competency)
