Job Summary
Perform clinical duties in accordance with NYS laws and regulations, including carrying out assigned procedures, taking and recording vital signs, and preparing exam rooms and sterilizing equipment. Assist physicians with clinical questions, prescription refills, test results, and patient calls while preparing patient records for visits. Maintain aseptic techniques and utilize practice management systems, EMR, and scheduling protocols. Work onsite at Centralus Eye Care in Ithaca, NY, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional Saturday coverage from 9 AM to 2 PM. No travel is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Clinical competency in aseptic techniques, sterilization, practice management systems, EMR, and scheduling protocols
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- basic keyboard proficiency
- Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard)
- Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs
- Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods
- Capacity to operate job-related equipment
- Onsite work at Centralus Eye Care- 100 Uptown Road, Ithaca, NY 14850
- Monday - Friday 8 Am - 5 Pm shift
