Job Summary
Conduct patient interviews, record histories, and measure vital signs including height, weight, BMI, and pulse oximetry. Verify demographics, insurance, and medications while completing intake processes and entering data into EHR/EPM systems. Collect, prepare, and document CLIA waived lab tests such as urine dips, glucose levels, and rapid influenza or strep tests. Administer medications per formulary, assist providers with exams and procedures, and coordinate patient care including scheduling, referrals, and diagnostic follow-ups. Perform scribe duties to document visits, procedures, and provider instructions. Maintain clean environments and participate in orientation and mandatory meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Diploma and/or National Medical Assistant Certification verifying graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent military healthcare experience
- Completion of a medical assistant externship
- Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Ability to maintain a current CPR certification during employment
