Job Summary
Medical Assistant will perform clinical tasks such as taking medical history and vital signs, room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments, perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing, prepare and administer medication under provider direction, and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health records (EHR/EMR) including HEDIS and Stars quality measures. The role requires CMA/RMA certification, 1+ years MA experience, phlebotomy experience, CPR certification, TB screening participation, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency; familiarity with value-based care concepts and CPT/ICD coding, CAHPS/HOS patient experience is a plus. The position is scheduled on-site with Humana Conviva Senior Primary Care in Portland, TX, with HireVue interviewing as part of the process.
Required Qualifications
- An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAH, AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, or NHA
- Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of MA experience
- Phlebotomy experience
- Medication/vaccine administration experience
- CPR Certified
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- 1+ years of experience in a PCO center
- Value-based Care experience includes knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
